The former Deputy of the Conservative Party took the paper to court for libel in 1987 when they alleged that he'd had sex and then paid off prostitute Monica Coghlan.
Archer won the case but was found guilty of perjury in 2001 when a former friend revealed that he'd lied for Archer in the former trial.
Archer was sentenced to four years in prison.
