  • More on The Rifles:

The Rifles released their first single themselves on a tiny budget straight out of Walthamstow but by the time their last single "Repeated Offender" was released, a groundswell of fans carried them to No. 1 in the indie charts. The mainstream countdown saw the single in the top twenties.

"She's Got Standards" heralds the band's debut album and is another example of why The Rifles have been rubbing shoulders at the top of the charts. The latest single struts with all the melodic nouse of the Best of British guitar bands but wrapped up in the tune comes songwriter Joel Stoker's trademark, far from saccarhine, eyes-open, tart commentary :

"If you're a new band breaking be aware 'cos she'll never leave your side/ 'cos If the NME say, you're so cool and they really like your style/ She'll be down south, Top Ten in her mouth with the blink of an eye/ She'll be top draw on the backstage floor till the new band arrives".

With it's bristly guitars (courtesy of Luke 'Robin Hood' Crowther) and driving rythmn section in the form of Grant Marsh on drums and Rob Pyne on bass, this is a song that has been causing pandemonium live - not least at the Camden Crawl 2006 where even the tour manager had to be roped in to stop multiple stage invasions from the band's mushrooming fan brigade.

With the debut album "No Love Lost" set for release on July 3rd and festival appearances lined up for throughout the summer including; T In The Park, Oxegen, V Festival and Fuji Rocks - move quick to catch The Rifles.
