McFly release a new double a-sided single "Sorry's Not Good Enough" / "Friday Night" on 18th December. Both tracks are taken from their new album "MOTION IN THE OCEAN" which was released this week and has already been certified gold.
"Friday Night" is also the official theme song from the new Fox film "Night At The Museum" starring Ben Stiller, Ricky Gervais and Steve Coogan. The film is released nationwide on 26th December in the UK.
McFly have been celebrating the success of their latest single "Star Girl" which catapulted the band to the top of the singles chart...making it their SIXTH number one single! Frontman Tom Fletcher has co-written 16 Top Ten hits so far, 9 of which have reached the top spot (6 for McFly and 3 for Busted).
Lead track "SORRY'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH" is a massive pop song containing all the traits of a McFly classic (great hooks, instant melodies, beach boys harmonies) - upbeat, angry, confused and begging for forgiveness: "sorry's not good enough for you, but everybody makes mistakes -that's just what we do". From the opening hook 'good, good, good enough you'll be singing along before you know it.
The flipside "FRIDAY NIGHT" features chugging guitars and half-rapped, half-sung vocals reminiscent of 90s rockers 'A' and ponders the whys and wherefores of getting thumped by persons unknown while trying to enjoy a night out, something Danny claims to have personal experience of. "A bunch of blokes started on me in a club for no reason, so I had to go to a bouncer, which I hate doing, 'I'm from McFly, these blokes want to kick the shit out of me, can you walk me to a taxi?' So he did, but when I got in the taxi, I saw them and gave them the finger. Then I realised I hadn't locked the door of the taxi..."
