Beth Rowley played a special London Tiscali Showcase at the Soho Revue Bar London, on May 22nd 2008.
Spotted at an open mic night in London's Ginglik, Beth Rowley is essential listening for 2008. Mentored by Carleen Anderson and signed to Blue Thumb Records, the 26 year-old singer/songwriter releases her euphoric new single 'Oh My Life' on March 3rd - the first from her eagerly anticipated debut LP 'Little Dreamer', April 21st.
Written by Beth with Paul Wilkinson and saxophonist Ben Castle (Duke Special, Jamie Cullum), 'Oh My Life' is a shimmering, carefree, gospel-tinged gem that soars with bluesy melody. Propelled by Beth's powerhouse vocals and a lush, big band sound, it's a favourite of her recent live sets and will be performed live on GMTV, February 22nd.
Dan Sully, whose previous credits include Stephanie Dosen and the Howling Bells, directed the accompanying video.
Smouldering with a seductive charm, the debut LP 'Little Dreamer' is co-written by Beth and follows the stunning EP 'Violets', which debuted at Number 11 on i-Tunes. Produced by Steve Power (Blur) and Kevin Bacon & Jonathan Quarmby (Richard Hawley, Finlay Quaye) it blends blues and soul with the irrepressible spirit of a New York gospel choir.
