Evanescence - Bring Me To Life (pictured in reviews link)
Sounding like a cross between Kate Bush and Linkin Park, Evanescence are the latest US sensations looking all set to rock this side of the Atlantic.
Already featured heavily in the Ben Affleck vehicle 'Dare Devil', the band's debut release, 'Bring Me To Life', is an emotional, ethereal and at times, heavy, single that also highlights a future star in vocalist Amy Lee.
A superb song, it also comes backed, across both formats, by exclusive bonus tracks and video extras.

Zwan - Lyric (attractive artwork pictured above)
Having silenced (and surprised) more than a few critics with their superb last single 'Honestly' - not-to-mention the subsequent album, 'Mary, Star Of The Sea' - Billy Corgan and Co return this week with another joyous single in the shape of album opener 'Lyric'.
Similar in sound and attitude to its predecessor, 'Lyric' is a breezy, guitar-heavy blast of positivity that finds the ex-Smashing Pumpkins frontman in superb form.
Whilst both formats also include bonus tracks.

Mull Historical Society - Am I Wrong?
Recently confirmed as support for REM on their forthcoming Glasto warm-ups and still riding high after the success of the brilliant 'Final Arrears', Mull Historical Society return this week with another superb single in the shape of 'Am I Wrong'. More dreamy, folky, laidback pop-tinted rock, it's also accompanied by Colin McIntyre's amazing cover of Ms Dynamite's 'It Takes More' as well as an r'n'b version of their own 'Mull Historical Society'. Sounds bizarre? Works a treat!

Medium 21 - By My Side
Having toured the UK extensively (they're currently on the road with the Cooper Temple Clause), Northampton's finest return with their brilliant new single. Fading through the Super Furry Animals, Idlewild, Flaming Lips and Pavement, John Clough's emotive voice delivers on a banshee of sound, and 'By My Side' is a fine example of the band at their best. Both formats also include excellent bonus tracks.

Electric Six - Gay Bar
Having kicked some life into the charts with their last single, the impossibly cool 'Danger! High Voltage', Detroit rockers Electric Six return this week with another slice of hi-octane, slightly camp, scuzzed-up rock naction.
Keeping the guitar-edged drama at the fore, 'Gay Bar' is slightly darker and more direct than its predecessor, but what that lacked in tongue-in-cheek antics this live fave more than makes up for. Whilst all formats also include exclusive bonus tracks/mixes with the DVD adding the hilarious, if bizarre, video.

Marilyn Manson - Mobscene (enchanced)
Inspired by "the glamour of 1930's Hollywood, the grotesque of vaudeville and the cabaret decadence and 'degenerate' art of Weimar Berlin", 'mOBSCENE' is the first single from Marilyn Manson's long-awaited new album, 'Golden Age Of Grotesque'.
A twisted cabaret inspired glam-metal stomp (in true Manson style); the brilliant original also comes, across all formats, accompanied by some superb bonus tracks/mixes, as well as video extras.

Nick Cave - He Wants You
The double A-sided 'He Wants You' and 'Babe I'm On Fire' is the second single from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' critically acclaimed album, 'Nocturama' (not-to-mention a fine follow up to last single 'Bring It On').
Everything that we've come to expect from the band, it also comes backed, across both formats, with two exclusive bonus tracks, 'Everything Must Converge' and the intriguing 'Little Ghost Song'.

Hidden Cameras - A Miracle
A jangley, infectious single from the men known as the Hidden Cameras. There's something Smithsey, yet something joyous like the Polyphonic Spree in the spirit of this record; a very catchy guitar-based tune. Recommended.

Kings Of Leon - What I Saw EP
Hotly-tipped by just about every corner of the music press, the Kings Of Leon return this week with another sneaky single before the long-awaited release of their debut album.
Another brilliant mix of Deep Southern charm, 70's posturing and straight-up, no-nonsense rawwk, the 'What I Saw EP' is an awesome single, and sets things up nicely for an album that's already promising to be something very special indeed.
All formats add bonus tracks.

Shania Twain - Forever and For Always
The third single from Shania Twain's latest, highly-successful album, 'Up!'; 'Forever & For Always' also happens to be one of its best.
Finding the country-rock chanteuse in a more reflective mode, it also highlights exactly what a talented singer/song-writer she actually is.
Whilst both formats each include two live audio tracks, a competition and the 'Forever & For Always' video.
