Melanie C - Here It Comes Again
With the Spice Girls reunion rumour mill starting to build up momentum, Melanie C returns from musical wilderness with the brilliant first single from her forthcoming, long-awaited new album.
Retaining the rock tinted pop vibe of her previous solo offerings, 'Here It Comes Again' is a catchy, uplifting first single that, on the evidence of this anyway, promises very good things for that forthcoming album. Both formats include bonus tracks with the DVD CD adding exclusive video footage.

Christina Aguilera - Beautiful (pictured on previous page)
Having shocked everyone (not-to-mention silenced a few critics) with last single, and former number one 'Dirrty', Ms Aguilera returns with her latest, a single that's already been widely touted as the best from her recent album.
Penned by Christina with Linda Perry, 'Beautiful' is a moving, poignant and deeply soulful ballad about believing in yourself that displays another side to the talented singer and should win her plenty of new fans. Both formats include a housed up remix of 'Dirrty' by maUVe with the CD adding the striking Jonas Akerlund directed video.

Ainslie Harrison
Having 'survived' the Fame Academy rollercoaster, singer-songwriter Ainslie Henderson finally gets a chance to have his music heard, and first single 'Keep Me A Secret' is a very promising example of what we can expect.
Written by the Ainsliee himself (with a little help from Sinead and Malachi), this is an uplifting, though slightly rougher-around-the-edges pop debut from a young man that, if 'Keep Me A Secret' is anything to go by, we can expect big things from in 2003.
This release also includes two bonus tracks alongside the striking video.

Junior Senior - Move Your Feet (pictured above)
With fans like Fatboy Slim (he tried to sign them to his Southern Fried label) and Ronan Keating you just know that Junior Senior's music is gonna be a pretty eclectic affair. Combining an irresistible mixture of rock, pop and soul that's fun, energetic and completely unique, their 'Move Your Feet' is already looking the latest Scando-pop goodie to crack the UK's charts.
And with remixes from the mighty Kurtis Mantronik and King Size's party breakbeat don Chicken Lips along for the ride, you just know that it's a matter of time before the dancefloors catch on as well.
The CD also adds the hilarious and original video.

Kings Of Leon - Holyroller Novocaine EP
They might not have released a single yet, but the hype machine is already working overtime where this Tennessee based foursome are concerned. Already tipped by the NME (amongst others) as one of this year's bands to watch, it'd seem like the Kings Of Leon have a lot to live up to. Well, the 'Holy Roller Novocaine EP' delivers on all fronts! An outstanding three-track debut that goes from laidback rock Americana to country and straight-up, no-nonsense rock, it's a stunning first releasefrom a band that are all set to be very, very big indeed this year.

Zwan - Honestly
Along with ex-Slint guitarist David Pajo, former Chavez/Skunk guitarist Matt Sweeney, A Perfect Circle's Paz Lenchantin on bass and former Smashing Pumpkins bandmate Jimmy Chamberlin on drums, Bill Corgan embarks on a new musical adventure in the shape of Zwan. Already defying critics with their deft, and, in comparison to the Pumpkins anyway, upbeat, to-the-point rock musings, Zwan's 'Honesty' is probably one of the songs that manages to perfectly encompass everything this band's about.
Whilst the bonus tracks across both formats are a tasty little extra.

Royksopp - Eple
Brit nominees and one of THE success stories from last year, Royksopp return in 2003 with the very welcome re-release of album highlight 'Eple'.
Still sounding as utterly compelling as it ever has, Royksopp's beautiful original is now joined by a whole host of fresh new mixes for the dancefloor.
Where do you start, this release is absolutely essential all the way! Fatboy Slim, Borsi D'Lugosch, Shakedown and super trendy Black Strobe all come up with goods, each lending their own uniquely individual take to what was always a great single.

Dj Sammy - Boy Of Summer
Still riding the crest of a euphoric tsunami thanks to the massive success of last single 'Heaven', DJ Sammy returns, with vocalist Loona in tow, on this updated, trance-pop cover of Don Henley's classic, 'Boys Of Summer'.
Already a staple on the more commercial dancefloors, Sammy's reinterpretation of this 80's anthem manages to stay faithful to the wistful summer original (only with added beats, sweeps of euphoria and gentle acoustic guitar) whilst still adding that instantly recognisable Euro-pop stamp.
The remixes across both formats add slightly different flavours for the more up-for-it dancefloors.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
The first single from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' 'Nocturama' album, 'Bring It On' finds Messrs Cave and guest vocalist Chris Bailey (singer with legendary punk band The Saints) in very fine fettle indeed.
Set to please the ardent fanbase no end, not-to-mention converting more thanks to its accessibility, this is a stunning new single from a singer and band that seem to always have something up their musical sleeve.
Whilst as an extra treat, each format comes with two, count 'em,TWO exclusive bonus tracks with the CD adding the superb John Hillcoat directed video.

Massive Attack - Special Cases
The first single from Massive Attack's long, long.....long awaited new album, 'Special Cases' finds the recently shorn Bristol massive getting back down to business on a typically dark and atmospheric low-slung skanker.
Featuring the distinctive vocals of Sinead O'Connor, it might not be as immediate as previous Massive outings but, given time, it proves itself as no less indispensable.
Whilst stellar remixes come from Akufen and Luomo, the CD adds 'I Against I' (featuring Mos Def, and only previously available on the internet) and the DVD CD the striking video.

Chicane - Love On The Run
Having re-ignited interested in his distinctive uplifting, pop-tinted trance sound with last month's re-release (and remix) of 1999's classic 'Saltwater', Chicane (aka writer/producer/musician Nick Bracegirdle) returns with his first 'real' new material since the Bryan Adam's sung 'Don't Give Up' way back in 2000.
Another euphoric slab of pumping, uplifting trance, 'Love On The Run' is already destined maximum dancefloor exposure whilst Blank & Jones'and Rob Searle's contrasting remixes guarantee that it'll have lags to last all the way through to Ibiza season in the early Summer.

Nylon Pylon - Pushin'
A four-piece band hailing from Oldham in Manchester, Nylon Pylon's eccentric, not-to-mention inspired mix of sounds and styles has already won them loads of fans right across the musical spectrum. But 'Pushin'', another catchy mix of scuzzy 80's influenced rock and sheer pop majesty, is already looking like the single that'll see them crossover and receive the widespread attention that their music so thoroughly deserves.
Whilst Jon Carter and Trevor 'Playgroup' Jackson show up with two muscular remixes that are already tickling the taste buds of the cooler sections of the dance fraternity.
Don't miss!

Grandadbob - Mmmnn/Monster
New signings to Southernfried Records, there's definitely nothing old and crusty about Grandadbob.
Taking the best of daft punk beats and the breezy catchiness of Royksopp this really is a feel-good, deeply anthemic funky dance record.
The title track 'Mmmmn' is part homage to air, part Portishead at their least bleak.
The mysterious 'Vanessa' adds her vocals to a collage of swirling beatsy backing tracks.
Not convinced? Well, the B-side Monster is just as wonderful a slice of slightly off-kilter dancey popness that any youngster or oldster will find favourable. So put
that in your bag.

Clearlake - Almost The Same
After an 18 month hiatus, Clearlake return with 'Almost the Same', a clever and delectably tuneful little indie-pop number.
Although there's something distinctly Smithsy (mournful vocals) and something very Dovesy (big jangly atmospheric guitars) about this track, Clearlake are definitely a set of boys with some original ideas about 'emotionally charged indie-rock' to bring to the table.
Contains an exclusive single mix version by Irvin Baker.

Toni Braxton - Hit The Freeway
STILL one of the finest r'n'b vocalists around, Toni Braxton returns this week with brilliant new single 'Hit The Freeway'.
A typically slick and classy affair (not-to-mention stunningly performed, but you'd expect that) with red-hot production by, yep, you guessed it, The Neptunes, this is a brilliant track that's already working urban dancefloors into a real sweat.
Both formats see Goldtrix and Beatzworkin' laying down the remixes.
