Co-produced by John Congleton (The Paper Chase) and The Speekers, the album is the perfect example of the collective's trademark sound; an unorthodox blend of brass, strings, choir and auxillary rock elements underpinned by a zeal for life, with all its highs and lows, that can't fail to uplift you.
"We have entered a new phase in our musical contribution," say Spree leaders/songwriters Tim DeLaughter and partner Julie Doyle.
"This recording was extremely challenging for us. It feels like a diary more than anything else. It's painful and beautiful all at once, kinda like life."
Along with the deeper sound comes a new look for the Spree. The group has folded their robes up nicely and put them away for now, becoming more "streamlined for the future" in their unified military-style uniforms covered in peace symbols. "We're gearing up for the evolution," says DeLaughter.
Extra content for this UK Edition is a new track "checking out" , a cover of Nirvana's 'Lithium' and the 'Running Away' video is an enhanced section on the CD format.
