Much more than just one of those "MySpace sensations" (Sandi Thom bow your head in shame!), Harrow songstress Kate Nash has a real shot at becoming the rising star of 2007 thanks to her underground cult following and press adoration.

Kate's fusion of poetry with performance and beats, producing peerless electro-pop confections, topped off with distinctive estuary vocal stylings, has had the internet buzzing for about a year now, and after her debut 7" 'Caroline's A Victim' made it onto every cool remix album this side of Hoxton Square, her first proper single 'Foundations' became an instant chart hit when it was released in early July.

With enough lyrical bile to sour a dozen lemons, and a keen sense of fun (if not melody), Nash could well raise a challenge to Lily Allen's pop crown for 2007.
