Irish rockers U2 have denied reports they are to follow in PRINCE's footsteps and play a London residency next year (08).
The Beautiful Day stars were alleged to be playing a string of live dates at the capital's O2 Arena in June, and the 14 gigs have already been listed on a ticket website.
But the band are urging fans not to purchase tickets for the concerts - because they have not scheduled any gigs for 2008.
A statement from the group reads, "There are no plans for live dates next year - so please don't buy tickets for any U2 shows you see advertised."
Earlier this year (07), soul superstar Prince played a 21-date residency at The O2. (MT/WNWCNM/TN)
