Belgrade beckons as Andy Abraham competes for the UK in the 53rd Eurovision Song Contest, broadcast live on BBC One at 8pm on Saturday 24 May 2008. As always Eurovision veteran Terry Wogan provides the progressively cutting commentary
Now in its 53rd year, The Eurovision Song Contest is one of the longest running television shows in the world and it's still going strong with an estimated 100 million people across the world watching it every year. This year a record 43 countries will be represented and for the first time, the contest features two Semi-Finals!
The Uk has won the title 5 times so far. This year Andy Abraham will be flying the flag for us with the fab 'Even If'- a sure-shot winner we think. As long as we don't come second. No one remembers second placers. Only first... and last - remember Jemini?
