Heart Full Of Wine, is the debut mini-album from Australian brother-sister duo Angus & Julia Stone. Dusted with summer breezes, late night tales and solitary introspection, it once again features the captivating vocals, delicate guitar lines and impeccably minimal production that so warmed the hearts of critics to their debut release last year.
Heart Full Of Wine contains material from two separate recording sessions in the UK; the first with Chris Potter (Verve / Richard Ashcroft) and then later with Travis frontman Fran Healy, Presented alongside last years' EP Chocolate & Cigarettes, the resulting two disc set reveals a greater degree of light and shade to the duo's work than before.
Mango Tree, with Angus' breezy delivery and buoying rhythm, is a summer soundtrack in waiting yet there is a more acute introspection to their latest material. This is perhaps most evident on the title track and 'Fooled Myself', where Angus kicks out of such soul searching into a skipping outro, spurred on by ever present drummer Mitchell.
Julia demonstrates a range beyond the playfully wry delivery of 'Private Lawns', with her barely contained discontent on 'What You Wanted' and the beautiful dynamics of live show favourite 'I'm Yours' creates just as compelling a listen on record.
The duo celebrated Christmas in Australia with a string of live shows, and are set to appear at premier Australian festivals, The Big Day Out and The Perth International Arts Festival in January/February. They return to the UK mid February and embark on a UK tour taking in two dates in London and - to make themselves feel a little more at home - some popular British surfing towns in Cornwall.
