Muddy Waters was the single greatest influence on the British blues boom of the 60s. The Rolling Stones took their name from one of his songs and Waters had a direct influence on Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy and Junior Wells. The dapper blues don was the main catalyst in the blues' transition to electric and then to rock and roll. A mannish boy indeed..
