Biography:
Born Nicole Wray, Salinas, California, USA. This teenage singer/rapper was the first artist to release a record on Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott's The Gold Mind label. Wray moved to Portsmouth, Virginia as a young girl, where she began singing in the local church choir.
Nicole was talent spotted by Elliott, who took the young singer under her wing even though her own career had yet to take off. Elliott worked with her long-time collaborator Timbaland on Nicole's 1998 debut, which was buoyed by the success of the US Top 5 title track.
