Biography:
Born Lindsay Morgan Lohan, 2 July 1986, New York City, New York, USA. US actress Lohan enjoyed notable commercial success in the pop charts at the start of the new millennium. She began her career as a child model before progressing to the world of television commercials and soap operas.
Lohan landed her first big role in 1996 when she was cast as Allison "Alli" Fowler in Another World, before graduating to the big screen in the 1998 Disney adaptation of The Parent Trap. She returned to television for Life-Size, Bette and Get A Clue before signing a five-album production deal with Estefan Enterprises in September 2002.
Lindsay Lohan the pop singer made her first appearance on the soundtracks of Freaky Friday (2003) and Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen (2004), two movies in which she also played starring roles. The former made Lohan a major Hollywood star and she was soon established as a regular on the celebrity circuit.
In 2004 she also starred in the high-grossing Mean Girls and signed a recording contract with Casablanca Records. Lohan's debut album Speak was released at the end of the year, reaching the US Top 5 and quickly chalking up platinum sales despite less than flattering reviews from unimpressed rock critics.
Lohan completed work on her second album while filming several new movies, including the Disney fantasy adventure Herbie: Fully Loaded. A single, the autobiographical "Confessions Of A Broken Heart (Daughter To Father)", was released in September 2005.
Second album A Little More Personal (Raw) followed in December.
