All about this artist

Biography:

Formed by Scottish cousins James and Rab Allan (vocals and guitars, respectively), Glasvegas deftly fuses a 1950s/early ‘60s rock & roll vibe with a swirling shoegazer-inspired atmosphere. Kindred spirits to acts such as the Raveonettes and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, the group has a more straightforward sound than those artists, allowing the emotive, heavily accented singing of James Allan to shine through.

In late 2007, the Glaswegian band gained significant attention, particularly in the U. K. , thanks in large part to ardent supporter Alan McGee, former head of Creation Records. This buzz led to the ensemble signing with the Columbia label, and unveiling its self-titled album to considerable accolades.
