All about this artist

Biography:

Frank Carter (born Christopher Carter, 27 April 1984, England; vocals), Steph Carter (guitar), Laurent Barnard (guitar), Stuart Gill-Ross (bass) and Lee Barratt (drums) formed this UK hardcore band in early 2005. The members came from a number of underground hardcore acts, including Winter In June and My Dad Joe, and shared an interest in Scandinavian hardcore bands, the 90s math rock scene and early Dischord Records releases (Minor Threat, Fugazi).

Within a year of forming, Gallows had signed a contract with one of UK's most respected independent hardcore labels, In At The Deep End Records, and toured supporting some of their bands. Their live performances often ended in violent exchanges between the band and fans, although Carter was unrepentant about his role in instigating the violence.

After receiving plaudits in hardcore magazines such as Organ Magazine and Big Cheese, Gallows went into the studio to record their debut album. Released in late September 2006, Orchestra Of Wolves was a relentless volley of high-octane punk rock from the opening track, "Kill The Rhythm", right through to the rasping dirge of the closing title track.

The respected UK rock magazine Kerrang! hailed the band as "the most genuinely exciting band to emerge from the UK underground".
