Biography:
Born 19 March 1955, Germany. Before beginning his acting career in the mid-70s, Willis played saxophone in the R&B band, Loose Goose. His musical ambitions were overshadowed by his growing success as an actor, which culminated in his starring roles in the highly popular US television series Moonlighting, and the Hollywood film Blind Date.
In 1987, Willis conceived and starred in the television special The Return Of Bruno, a biography (or rockumentary!) of a fictional rock star in which many real-life musicians testified to his influence on their careers. For the soundtrack, Willis revamped several classic soul songs, scoring a surprise 1987 hit with the Staples Singers' "Respect Yourself", and following up with the Drifters' "Under The Boardwalk", on which he was supported by the Temptations.
