Innovations such as the BMW Z-Axle and electrically powered steering mean that the handling is razor-sharp and it’s a riot to drive. Superceeded in 2006, its familiar retro styling hasn't really dated.
This car was on sale at an Independant dealer. You'll pay more for a second-hand Cooper at dealers; but there are plenty around so be picky. Our example was fitted with the attractive, optional Chili pack with 16-inch alloys and air-conditioning.
