More on the BMW M3 CSL
Yours for: £25,500 (04/04)
This limited-build M3 was the first BMW to carry the charismatic CSL (Coupe Sport, Lightweight) badge since the 70s. After the CS, the CSL is possibly the most collectable version of the E46 M3.
Fewer than 1,400 of this special M3 were produced between June and December 2003.
The M3 CSL has more power (360bhp), less weight (carbon fibre roof, composite bumpers and a bootlid made of plastic) and sharper handling. Despite costing almost £60,000, air-conditioning, electric seats and even a stereo were not fitted as standard. On the outside, you can identify the CSL versions by the revised front bumper/spoiler, with its large circular cut-out to ram air into a special carbon fibre airbox. At the back, there was a reshaped spoiler for better aerodynamics.
