Research by Experian has identified Britain's identity fraud hotspots, those towns/territory areas containing the highest proportions of the most 'at-risk' residents, using its research into the types of people most like to become victims.
The most at risk area in the Britain is London's Kensington where residents are more than three and a half times more likely than the national average to become a victim of identity fraud.
A number of London boroughs are not far behind, making the city the fraud capital of the UK. Outside of London, commuter towns such as St Albans, Guildford and Windsor also have high concentrations of at-risk consumer types.
Further analysis of Experianâs fraud cases reveals insights into the type of people likely to fall victim. The typical identity fraud victim will:
Be aged between 26 and 45
Work in a professional occupation
Own their own home
Be a high income earner
