TV licence fibs
I told my dad that I had been fined by the TV licence company so that he would give me some cash and bail me out to help cover my student debt as I knew he would be furious if he knew it was for debts. Only my dad then phoned the TV licence company and discovered that they know nothing about it. He then threatened to call the police as he then thought I had fraudulently been fined £400. I had to pretend to phone the bank and stop the cheque I had never written in the first place.

Doh!
Outside Disneyland Paris were a whole host of charity collectors with clipboards for you to write down your name and donation, then chuck the coins inna bucket. Feeling uncharacteristicly generous I thought I'd bin some of the silly foreign money I had.

Looking at the list I see most people had given over 10Francs, okay thought I and put 10 euros in the box.. Took me a while to figure out why the guy looked so pleased.

Fair shares?
I invested £1000 worth of shares in a company that I knew nothing about apart from a tip from a so called friend. By the end of the week my £1000 investment had shrunk to £400. I sold them asap before I lost the lot. Lesson learned: do your own research!
