Best buys 3: Debt & Insurance
It's not even Christmas and holidaymakers are already planning their skiing trips. Given the frequency of accidents, travel insurance is a must, but needn't cost you a fortune.
We tested the market for a one-week policy for a couple skiing in Switzerland in February, and found Europ Assistance to be the cheapest at £46.42.
But skiers, generally a well-heeled crowd who take several holidays a year, would do better buying an annual multi-trip policy including winter sports.
We went online to insuresupermarket.com and found a company called PHA offering a policy at just £77 for a couple (one aged 42, the other 35). Next cheapest and rather better-known is Norwich Union at £83.
