By customising your internet settings or setting them to default security, you decrease the risks associated with internet browsing. Follow these simple steps to get secure.

1. Open your Internet Explorer and click on Tools.

2. Click on Internet Options.

3. Click on the Security tab and then find the Internet security zone (usually signified by a globe).

4. If you can't see a slider to change the security level, click on Default level, and then Apply

5. You can also drag the slider to set the security level to High, Medium, Medium-low, or Low.

Here you can let your PC know that a website is trusted or safe, so that you can download software without prompting.

1. Go to the Website you want to add to your trusted zone and copy the address by highlighting it and hitting CTRL+C

2. On Internet Explorer click on your Tools menu and then click on Security tab.

3. Click on the security zone marked Trusted Sites

4. Click on the Sites button and then click on 'Add this site to the zone'. Use CTRL+V to paste the web address into the box.

5. Click the Add button and then click OK twice

Tip: You can do the same with sites you want to restrict. Simply follow the instructions above but add your chosen site to the Restricted zone instead.
