What we thought: In a word 'fabulous'. The Balaton Spa Mask is a little pot of deep, dark, velvety loveliness.
This isn't your normal pampering experience, it's a full-on assault on your nose, face and bathroom. Their advice is to stir before applying - my advice is to pop a nose-peg on before you do anything. It's a bit on the whiffy side but that's because it's 100% natural peat - and frankly who cares what it smells like when it performs miracles on your face?
Scoop out the mask and smear it over your face, leave on for 3 minutes and wash off. It's a slightly grubby business and by the time I'd finished my bathroom looked liked I'd just washed my dog in it but my God was it worth it....stubborn pores on my nose were clear, my skin felt silky and smooth and my face was thoroughly cleansed.
If you have sensitive skin or are prone to dryness apply the mask and spray on the Spa Cleansing and Toning Lotion over the top of it - this will keep the mask hydrated and prevent your skin from drying out.
Warning: whatever you do, don't get it in your eyes because it stings like mad.

What we thought: Ooo I loved this. You put the gel on clean, dry skin and massage in circular motions. The green gel smells fresh and contains green tea, ginseng, aloe vera and herbs. It feels cool and refreshing and, as you massage, you see the dead skin starting to come off almost immediately. I really felt as if I'd shed a layer of skin and revealed the much softer and smoother skin underneath. If you've got sensitive skin it's a great way to exfoliate in a non-abrasive way.
Packaging: Comes in a smart box. The tube looks sophisticated and gives the impression of a 'natural' product.
Smell: Fresh and green.

What we thought: This body polish will look good on your bathroom shelf as well as smooth your skin. The synthetic and natural wax beads are small and gentle so it's the perfect exfoliator for everyday use and maintaining smooth skin. If you're after a heavy-duty exfoliator for the pre-fake tan knee and elbow scrubbing then this isn't the one for you.
Packaging: The design is cool, subtle and looks expensive (the tube is also strangely strokeable - touch it and you'll know what I mean).
Smell: A refreshing, invigorating scent.

What we thought: I really loved using this body scrub - the active grains which are suspended in the yellow liquid were gentle on my skin.
I think it would be a lovely gift for your grandmother or mother-in-law, perhaps teamed up with other Bronnley beauty products, especially as Bronnley is known for its good quality and having the Royal seal of approval.
Packaging: Comes in quite a simple, clear plastic bottle, which I thought was a little dull but traditional nevertheless. I do think that perhaps some more information on the label as to the actual ingredients and method of use (should you avoid using it near your eyes?) would be useful.
Smell: The lemon and neroli scent is very pleasant and invigorating.
