Bronnley Lemon and Neroli Body Scrub

Bronnley Lemon and Neroli Body Scrub

"This refreshing Citrus exfoliating gel blends natural Jojoba beads with Olive, Sicilian Lemon oil & Neroli extracts... to leave skin soft & moisturised."

What we thought: I really loved using this body scrub - the active grains which are suspended in the yellow liquid were gentle on my skin.
I think it would be a lovely gift for your grandmother or mother-in-law, perhaps teamed up with other Bronnley beauty products, especially as Bronnley is known for its good quality and having the Royal seal of approval.
Packaging: Comes in quite a simple, clear plastic bottle, which I thought was a little dull but traditional nevertheless. I do think that perhaps some more information on the label as to the actual ingredients and method of use (should you avoid using it near your eyes?) would be useful.
Smell: The lemon and neroli scent is very pleasant and invigorating.

Proto-Col Instant Body Bliss

Proto-Col Instant Body Bliss

"A tropical body scrub to tackle cellulite and stretch marks."

When I was told about this body scrub I was dying to test it for real as it sounded so lush. The blend of moisturising passion flower oil and sexy sandalwood along with its claim to ease stretch marks and reduce cellulite, made me a willing volunteer.

I tested this out in the shower and had to mix the salt and the oil layers into one. I found this a bit tricky and think it would be better if a spatula or stick were supplied, especially as I knocked it over in the process. I have a feeling I applied too much in one go but it was a bit tricky as the solution was quite runny - needless to say once I rubbed it in the effects were easy to feel and see. The salt really exfoliated and then the oil layer really helped to moisturise my skin and left a gorgeous smelling layer of oil. I had a few shaving nicks, which did really sting - so you can't use on sore or broken skin as you wouldn't naturally rub salt into your skin. Once I had dried off - I didn't need to apply body lotion as my skin was fully hydrated. I have quite dry and sensitive skin and this product went down a real treat. I would definitely consider using this when pregnant to help with stretch marks and it would be a great gift for the more mature lady.

Intense moisture chocolate body wrapper

Intense moisture chocolate body wrapper - Champneys

"An intensely moistening treat for the skin with a heavenly chocolate aroma."

Chocolate as a body wrap - I was the first to volunteer to test this out. It smelt delicious I only hoped I could stop myself from eating it!
I applied the cream quite thickly over my body until I looked like a piece of chocolate. It was easy to do and really smelt fab. I then had to wait for 20 minutes for the body wraps' moisturising effects to take place. This was the harder part as I started to fell a bit cold. I think if you had this done in a salon you would be covered in cling-film and then wrapped in a towel. The DIY version wasn't so relaxing. It did dry though so I was never dripping - it absorbed into my skin really quickly and was a delight to apply.

Washing it off after the 20 minutes was fine although you need to pay attention to the areas you can't see to ensure you get it off - it's just a case of gentle rubbing. There's no need to apply more shower gel or anything - I was sparkling and clean once it had rinsed off.

I was lucky to have been treated to the Champneys' 'skin comforting creamy body butter' for my birthday so I used that to moisturise my skin - I felt and smelt divine. I think the wrapper would make a great treat for someone but I would personally prefer to have this sort of treatment done professionally in a salon. A perfect Christmas gift for chocolate lovers as they are sure to love it.

Sanex dermo intensive shower cream

Sanex dermo intensive shower cream

This rich shower cream containing Vitamin E helps to soften the skin leaving it feeling moisturised and comfortable.

What we liked: I've alway been a fan of Sanex products and their latest shower cream does not dissappoint. The foamy wash leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean and thoroughly deodorised as do all the Sanex shower products. Great for dry or sensitive skins.
What we weren't so keen on: Sanex is great product at a great price, just £1.79 for 250ml, so there is nothing to dislike!
