My therapist Joan led me to a small, cosy treatment room and left me to get ready and snuggle under the warm blankets in preparation for Ark's signature facials using gentle and delicate dermalogica products.
I've had several facials in the past and have never really been sure if they were worth it, but in this instance every minute and penny spent is well spent. This was no ordinary facial. Joan was confident yet gentle in her manner. Unlike previous facials I felt no fingernails (except for of course a little pressure when it came to extraction time) and I didn't feel concerned about layers of exfoliator, serum and masque not being properly wiped away from my delicate eye area. When a treatment was applied that needed time to absorb Joan would concentrate on massaging first my hands and fingers and next my neck and shoulders. Best of all, closer to the end of the treatment I got a terrific head massage as well! My highlight was the application of the heavenly MultiVitamin Power Recovery Masque. Delicious oatmeal aromas came from the warm thick masque applied and it was difficult for me to stay awake.
At the end of the treatment not only did my skin feel baby smooth, I felt relaxed, truly pampered and had various comments that my skin looked newly radiant.
So come on girls...what are you waiting for? If you've got the cash to splash on a facial, make sure you do so somewhere recommended and worth every penny.
