First things first, I was asked to strip off and pop on a stylish pair of paper pants and shower cap, wrap myself in a towel and hop onto a foil laid bed. Once comfortable, Zefney, my treatment therapist began brushing in an invigorating citrus-infused combination of salt grains and oil. This took no longer that five minutes and I had a quick shower to rinse off the grains in readiness for the next step.
Having dried off and back on the bed, a soothing lavender oil was rubbed into the skin - this part became more relaxing as Zefney's hands warmed up. One thing that did bother me was that the massage and moisturising didn't include the hands or feet - it stopped abruptly at the wrists/ankles which felt odd and awkward.
Next step involved being cocooned in a foil wrap for approximately 15 minutes - the theory behind this is to allow the oils work into the skin. Whilst I was stewing, the shower cap was removed and my head was treated to a very relaxing scalp massage - I drifted off at this point but that's a testament to how good it was!
Quietly and comfortably I was slowly unwrapped and allowed to breathe. Each limb was given a final soft application of Enfold, Dove Spa's own moisturising lotion, and there the treatment ends with soft classical music in the background lulling me into a calm state of mind as I prepared to leave.
My skin was left feeling very smooth, and I particularly liked that the treatment included back exfoliation - an area which tends to get overlooked. I also have very sensitive skin - but during the treatment and in the hours immediately after, there were thankfully no skin irritations to report.
Beauty spa regulars might find this quite tame by comparison to other beauty experiences they may have had - the feet/hands/neck were slightly neglected in my opinion and the overall treatment felt a little procedural. However if you're new to spa treatments, searching for a beauty gift or just want to treat yourself to a good value basic all-over body conditioning experience, then from £50 you can't go wrong with this treatment.
