Readers' Stories New Age Tiscali

It was like going back in time

I was sat on the side of the Roman Amphitheatre (Maumbury Rings) in Dorchester, Dorset, enjoying the afternoon sunshine a few years ago. There were several other people in the amphitheatre but suddenly I noticed sat on the grass bank opposite a group of people in Roman dress. There were ladies sat to the rear and the men were sat towards the front. Once again when I looked at the group it vanished from view.

Imagine my surprise when, not long ago, I got a book from the local library and found a piece in it written by none other than Thomas Hardy describing people having the same experience as me and in the same place. This was written by him in the 1920's.
