Readers' Stories New Age Tiscali

I have never ever believed in the 'supernatural' but an incident happened recently which made me think twice about this. I was at a friends party at Hogmanay and while we were all sitting around chatting I just happened to be looking across the room at some ornaments on a display cabinet.

Suddenly, a brass ornament flew from the top of the cabinet and landed at someone's feet making a 'pinging' noise as it took off. I was surprised to say the least, and looked around to see if anyone else had noticed, or if someone had thrown something to make this happen. Only two other people had noticed.

One was the hostess, who calmly replaced it saying "that damn Spey Wife is at it again". The other was her sister who said "this house is so creepy, I'm not staying here again tonight after the footsteps I heard coming up the stairs last night". They both then left the room and nothing more was said.

I must point out that I was the allocated driver that night and was very sober. I wish I had been drinking then I could have written it off as some sort of alcohol-induced episode.
