I have a very vocal african grey parrot who's almost 9 years old. The first summer I had him (1993) he started to call very clearly the name 'Michael'. This has happened every summer since, we have no 'Michaels' in the area. There has never been a 'Michael' in this house.
The 'voice' with which the parrot calls sounds like no one we know but does sound very much like a 'mother calling a child'. This year the parrot has also started to call 'Leila' pronounced Layler. My next door neighbour's grandaughter is actually called Leila but the pronunciation of her name is Leeler! Also, the parrot has two way conversations very quietly in voices unrecognisable to ourselves.
I have often felt a presence in this house that while completely unthreatening feels sad - like walking into a room where someone has been crying but I think this presence is personal to me and not to the house and certainly I don't know of anyone called 'Michael'. Any ideas?

While I was in Israel I visited a gentleman who, although a Moslem himself, had a famous old Jewish Rabbi as a spirit guide. He also had a very much earthly based bad tempered parrot who he said relayed messages to him from the spirit world.
This method of communicating through a non-human conduit is known about but has really been kept secret - perhaps through superstitious fear that owes much to the dark ages - after all the goat has been much maligned as symbolic of the devil. Goats don't appear at all devilish to me, unless you count their tendency to eat everything and butt everyone.
The witches' 'familiar' was their pet cat or other animal, and always the implication was this situation was imbued with some evil intent.
I have personally known of a pet dog who clearly 'whispered' hoarsely 'Hello, how are you?' to his human companions on a regular basis. So why not your parrot too. It's quite likely that your pet is the means by which someone in the world of spirit wishes to communicate, not necessarily with you, nor because the actual message is important - but the mere fact of making contact across that barrier is.
It has in fact prompted you to contact me, and in that way this psychic phenomena has become knowledge in the public domain and without scare-mongering 'spookiness'. Try videoing your pet's carryings on - a tv programme might be interested.
