Amniocentesis
Amniocentesis is used to detect any possible chromosome abnormalities in the unborn child that may cause Down's syndrome or other congenital problems.
Most people have their blood pressure taken at some time or other. It is a simple procedure that provides useful information on the condition of our heart and blood vessels.
This test is designed to detect pre-cancerous changes in the cervix (neck of the womb). These changes have no symptoms so cannot be detected unless a woman has a test.
