Lumps behind the testicle
Other Qs & As
Can masturbation cause testicular cancer?
Checking for cancer in undescended testes
I have a lot of lumps
behind my right testicle. I had a vasectomy 15 years ago and have a check-up regularly.
I have pain in my right back between ribs and pelvis and infection fighting cells in my urine â my white blood cell count is 11.5.
I have been in pain for 14 weeks and am at the end of my tether.
Answer
Well, obviously you must be seeing a doctor, because you've had a blood test
done. The result indicates infection.
But from the details you've given us, we have no way of knowing whether the infection is your urine (which seems likely), or in the region of your testicles.
We really can't 'cut across' the treatment you're being given by your doctor. However, from what you say, it is clear that you should have had a midstream urine (MSU) specimen sent to the hospital lab to find out if you have any germs in your urine.
If there are germs there, the MSU test will indicate which antibiotic you ought to be on. And the correct antibiotic should clear the infection.
I hope this information helps you â and that you'll get better very shortly.
Yours sincerely
Dr David Delvin, GP
