My left breast is noticeably swollen and lumpy around the nipple area. Should I be worried? I'm nine years old.
Answer
Even at the age of nine you may have early breast changes occurring that are a sign of hormones influencing your body.
Although this is always harmless, I would advise a check up by your doctor just to put your mind at rest and confirm exactly what is happening.
Most cases such as this settle by themselves without needing any treatment, but it is always sensible to get checked - do not be worried or embarrassed about this.
