Can varicose veins be removed permanently, or do they come back once they have been stripped?

Can the small prominent veins be cured?

Answer
The varicose veins that have been stripped don't come back, but other ones can develop after the operation.

The small ones can be treated in one of two ways:

  • Ligation - tying them off at the time of stripping the larger ones.
  • Injections, which are easier and quicker.
