Painful cramps in between periods
Other Qs & As
I get extremely painful cramps in between my periods, mostly during mid cycle. The cramps are so harsh they make me curl up and the only way to get relief is by lying down.
I had chlamydia recently. I have been given the all clear by the doctor, but I am still worried the symptoms are related and I'm running the risk of infertility. I know chlamydia can lead to this in extreme cases.
I also had a smear test recently and I have slight cell changes which means I have to go back every six months to be checked.
All this has had a snowball effect on me and I'm worrying even more about the possibilities of future complications.
Answer
Chlamydia is a hard thing to diagnose and the only reliable diagnosis is a lab test. Did you have a lab test after your treatment? If not, go and ask for it to be checked now.
The mid-cycle pain is caused by ovulation and is actually very common. It isn't a sign of an infection.
