Bleeding between periods
Other Qs & As
What could be the cause of bleeding between periods?
It is only a small amount â a few patches in a day, and some nausea now and then, too. I have not missed taking any of my contraceptive pills.
Answer
While on the contraceptive pill, any bleeding like this can be due to a temporary fall in the levels of hormones in your body. This might be out of the blue, or it might be due to something like sickness or diarrhoea.
Have you been well? (I note your comment about nausea and wonder if you've had any bowel upset). If this is the reason, then all should be well in the next packet.
If it is really important that you don't fall pregnant, use condoms as well until you have a packet without the bleeding.
Yours sincerely
