My two-year-old daughter is getting an increasing amount of fine dark hair on her back and shoulders, as well as longer hairs on the tops of her arms.

Is this normal?

Answer

It's unusual for a two year old girl to have an increasing amount of dark hair over her back, shoulders and upper arms, although this could be normal, particularly for a child with olive or dark skin.

If your daughter continues to produce more dark hair over her body, particularly if you notice any changes in her general health as well, it would be worth letting your GP have a look at her.
