How long will I have to be off work for my varicose veins?
Other Qs & As
Could varicose veins be causing the pain in my vulva?
Question
I have been advised to have both my legs stripped of varicose veins and now have to put this surgery into my busy workload.
Please could you advise me how long I might be off work?
Answer
It depends how much surgery is required. The issue is one of wound healing.
It is likely that you will be off work for a minimum of two weeks. In more severe cases, it could take four to six weeks to recover.
Yours sincerely
Dr Bob Leckridge, GP
