I intend to go ahead with a vasectomy but I understand that in some cases it can lead to potency problems.
Can you provide me with some information on this?

Let me declare my interest: I myself had a vasectomy years ago, and I'm very happy with it.
I don't know where you got the idea that a vasectomy can affect your potency. The only way in which that would be likely to happen is this: a guy who has psychological problems – and who is deeply worried about having a surgeon's knife near his genitals – could develop erection problems for emotional reasons after 'the snip'.
For obvious reasons doctors try to 'filter out' that kind of guy by counselling beforehand. Are you, by any chance, already worrying about erection problems? If so, think carefully before you decide that vasectomy is the best choice.
