Early greying
Other Q&As
I don't have much facial hair
I'm 25 and I still have no facial hair
Question
I've been going grey since I was 15. My hair is naturally light brown, and I now have many white hairs.
I understand that it is genetic, but is there any way to slow it down, and are there ways to cover it up other than with hair-colour kits? Will I ever be able to replace the pigment lost?
Answer
I can understand your concern at discovering early greying of your hair. Unfortunately, there is no way to cover it up other than the cosmetic ways you mention.
It is probably worthwhile asking you doctor to have a look at your hair, to ensure that nothing is being overlooked; but I suspect that you have an inherited tendency to go grey early.
At the moment, there is no way to slow it down, or to replace the 'lost pigment', but in the future, who knows what might be developed?
Provided that you enjoy good general health and you eat a full balanced diet, I am afraid that I am unable to offer you anything other than my sincere sympathy.
Yours sincerely
