Can masturbation cause testicular cancer?
Checking for cancer in undescended testes
This is a general question; how do I test for testicular cancer.
I have tubes connected to my testicles but I just don't know what should be there and what shouldn't.
Answer
Checking yourself for testicular cancer is very important in diagnosis of testicular cancer. Men should ideally check themselves on a monthly basis. The technique is straightforward and easy, and the following are helpful tips.
The scrotum is most relaxed, and the testes will be most easily palpated, after a warm bath or shower.
Using both hands, gently roll each testis between the thumb and first two fingers. A normal testis is freely movable within the scrotum.
You should feel for hard, fixed areas, lumps, and nodules. It is important to be consistent in your examination so that you will be most likely to notice any changes in size, shape, or firmness of the testis.
See your doctor promptly if you notice anything that seems out of the ordinary.
X-rays or ultrasound scans may be done to assist in diagnosis.
Yours sincerely
