Recently I started having regular sex with my boyfriend, but I was wondering where I can go for a sex health check up? We both went to a family planning clinic to ask about the Pill, but I want to go somewhere I can get checked out for any problems, as I have what feels like a genital wart near the entrance to my vagina.

Well, Family Planning Clinics do limited sexual health check ups for women -- if time and money permit!

But for a full hi-tech sexual health check-up, the best place to go is usually a genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinic - which should be located at your nearest large hospital. They have all the necessary tests available, and their whole raison-d'etre is checking out people's sex organs and treating any problems.

These days, they too are pushed for time and short of money – but they will gladly see you. You may have to wait a few days for an appointment.
