Lemsip Pharmacy Non-Decongestant Formula

How does it work?

This medicine contains two active ingredients, paracetamol and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Paracetamol is a medicine used in the treatment of mild to moderate pain. It is also useful for reducing fever. It is not fully understood how paracetamol produces these effects. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is involved, amongst many things, in maintaining a healthy immune system. It is normally obtained in the diet, as the body is unable to produce its own. A balanced diet, that includes different types of food, is likely to provide adequate amounts of vitamin C. Supplements are given when dietary vitamin C is not adequate. Vitamin C is included in many cold and flu remedies because studies have shown it may reduce the severity of symptoms of colds and flu. The combination of paracetamol and vitamin C is used to relieve the symptoms of colds and flu. These include fever, aches and pains, sore throat and headache. It is taken dissolved in hot water as a hot drink.
