How can this medicine affect other medicines?

There may be some absorption of adrenaline or guanethidine when they are used as eye drops. There may be an increase in blood pressure when adrenaline eye drops are used with: beta-blockers such as metoprolol tricyclic antidepressants such as imiprimine mono-amine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) antidepressants Entacapone and other adrenaline-like medicines, such as phenylephrine, will increase the effect of adrenaline. There may be a decrease in blood pressure if guanethidine is absorbed from eye drops when an anaesthetic is to be used. If adrenaline is absorbed when an anaesthetic is to be used, there is an increased risk of arrhythmias occurring.
