How can this medicine affect other medicines?

Azapropazone may enhance the effect of the following medicines, resulting in an increased risk of side-effects or toxicity: baclofen, cyclosporin, digoxin, lithium, methotrexate, phenytoin, quinolone antibiotics, zidovudine and especially blood-thinning or anti-clotting medicines. Azapropazone also enhances the effect of antidiabetic tablets (belonging to the sulphonylurea group), which can lead to low blood sugar levels. The effect of azapropazone may be enhanced by the following medicines, resulting in an increased risk of side-effects or toxicity: moclobemide, oxpentifylline, probenecid, cimetidine, ritonavir and steroids. The effect of water tablets (diuretics) and blood pressure lowering agents may be reduced by azapropazone, resulting in their being less effective. Use of azapropazone with diuretics or ACE inhibitors may increase the risk of kidney problems and/or an altered potassium balance. NSAIDs should not be used within 8-12 days of taking mifepristone. Azapropazone should not be taken with another NSAID.
