Side effects

How can this medicine affect other medicines?

Alcohol and other medicines which have a sedative effect when taken with clomethiazole can cause serious and potentially life threatening collapse of the heart and lung function. Such combinations should be avoided or appropriate dose reductions made. Cimetidine may increase the sedative effects of clomethiazole. Clomethiazole and diazoxide when given to pregnant women in labour can cause difficulties in breathing in their babies after birth.
