Side effects
Medicines and their possible side effects can affect individual people in different ways. The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with this medicine. Drowsiness

Muscle weakness
Restlessness
Dizziness
Shaky movements and unsteady walk (ataxia)
Concentration difficulties
Decreased co-ordination
Loss of memory following an epileptic seizure (anterograde amnesia)

How can this medicine affect other medicines?
Clonazepam blood levels may be increased by cimetidine.
Clonazepam blood levels may be decreased by rifampicin.
Clonazepam may alter the blood levels of pheytoin and primidone making unwanted effects such as drowsiness more marked.
There may be an increase in the incidence of absence seizures when clonazepam is taken with sodium valproate.
There may be an increase in side-effects such as sedation and dizziness when clonazepam is taken with:
Anti-psychotic medication such as clozapine
Hypnotics such as other benzodiazepines (e.g. temazepam)
Muscle relaxants such as baclofen
and other anti-epileptic medications such as sodium valproate.
It advised by the manufacturer to completely avoid drinking alcohol as this may result in increased sedation and an increased fequency of seizures.
