How does it work?

Methoxamine hydrochloride is a vasopressor medicine which produces an immediate and prolonged rise in blood pressure. It acts by stimulating alpha adrenergic receptors causing constriction of the blood vessels. It is used to prevent or correct low blood pressure associated with the use of spinal anaesthetics or antihypertensive medicines.

What is it used for?

Low blood pressure (hypotension)

Warning!

Leakage from blood vessels into surrounding tissues results in inflammation.

Use with caution in

Disease involving the blood vessels

Heart disease

Hyperthyroidism

Not to be used in

Known sensitivity or allergy to any ingredient

Moderate to severe high blood pressure

This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to one or any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
