How can this medicine affect other medicines?
Nisoldipine increases the effect of medicines used to lower blood pressure.
When first taken with other blood pressure lowering medication it may cause a large drop in blood pressure and therefore dizziness.
The combination of nisoldipine and a beta-blocker such as propranolol, may cause a severe drop in blood pressure and heart failure.
Rifampicin may increase the removal of this medicine from the body, making it less effective.
The effect of this medicine may be reduced by the anti-epileptics carbamazepine, phenytoin and phenobarbital.
Ritonavir may possibly increase plasma concentrations of nisoldipine.
