Side effects

Blurred vision

Drowsiness

Disturbances of the gut such as diarrhoea, constipation, nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain

Weight gain

Weakness

Increased need to pass urine

Pins and needles (paraesthesia)

Awareness of your heartbeat (palpitations)

Dizziness

Decreased sex drive

Fainting (syncope)

Cold symptoms, eg nasal congestion

How can this medicine affect other medicines?

When terazosin is taken with other medicines that reduce blood pressure (antihypertensives), particularly ACE inhibitors such as enalapril and diuretics such as bendrofluazide, there be may be a large drop in blood pressure, particularly with the first dose of terazosin. Similarly, if other antihypertensives are added to your treatment with terazosin, your doctor may need to adjust your terazosin dose to prevent your blood pressure from dropping too low.
